Crazy cat ladies rejoice! Paris, New York, Tokyo … Sydney – the harbour city is set to get its very own cat café. A couple have started a crowd funding campaign to finance a feline coffeehouse, which they hope to open in the CBD in July this year.
Thomas Derricott and his girlfriend, Wenee Yap, were inspired by Catmosphere's famous feline eateries in Thailand's Chiang Mai, which actually moved them to happy, slightly weirded-out tears when they first visited:
"We spent an hour and a half looking for the cat cafe and when we arrived my girlfriend burst into tears because it was such a bizarre sight," Mr Derricott told media.
"I never envisaged cats and sci-fi to go together, but it's actually the perfect marriage."
Oh yeah, the cat café is going to be 'space themed', you guys. But of course it is.
