William, Kate and Harry witness the torch passing from one great charity worker to the next on its way to glory! Photo: Getty
It was a busy day for Kate, Wills and Harry, (otherwise known as the Royals) yesterday. First, the trio visited Bacon's College to launch a program between their foundation and a charity that will help train youth-sports coaches. The trio even dipped into some of the on-field action, with William having a go at soccer – sorry futbull - Kate having a go at table tennis and Judo while Harry took to the basketball court.
But William was modest about his sporting prowess, explaining as much in a speech to the kids
"Watching me on the football field is never a pretty sight. The expression giraffe on ice springs to mind".
'I know you're better than me, why do you think I mentioned it in the speech? Now, can you please stop rubbing it in darling. Stop laughing!' Photo: Getty
Oh pish tosh, Wills! We’re sure you’re better than that!
Still, the modesty continued ...
"Catherine, on the other hand, with a tennis racket or a hockey stick is something to behold and be aware of."
Oh bless – he knows who has the talent in the family.
After much ball handling it was time to welcome the torch at Buckingham palace, which meant a clothes change for all, but most obviously for Kate, who slipped out of the grey Hobbs dress, (which reportedly cost less than $70) and into a Team Great Britain t-shirt, skinny blue jeans and wedges. William and Harry also donned the Team Great Britain tops as they witnessed volunteer charity worker Wai-Ming hand over the London 2012 Olympic Torch to another charity worker, John Hulse in front of a crowd of thousands who stood outside the palace gates.
