When Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds in a top secret wedding on September 9 in front of 35 guests, they sent a message: we value privacy. But then, lo and behold, it turns out that Lively, 25 and Reynolds, 36, were working in conjunction with Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, which, while positively reeking of Hamptons-esque brand positioning, also satisfies our needs as consumers of celebrity pop culture. But then! In a plot twist worthy of the late, great Gossip Girl, Lively chose not to reveal anything save for glimpses from her big day. We're naming only Lively here because we can't really imagine Reynolds, who married Scarlett Johansson in secret with no published photos for proof, calling up old Martha to organise a mini tower of macaroons, for example.

"While they remain protective of images of them on their most heartfelt occasion, they graciously let us share pictures of the elements we created together," Martha Stewart Weddings, who helped create their special day, explains in their new issue.

In one photo, the bride and groom offer a glimpse at their wardrobe while holding hands and showing off Reynold's wedding band and his biscuit-coloured suit. At least, we're hoping that's what Martha would call it. To us it looks like standard issue khakis.

Lively wore a Marchesa gown adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery. To compliment the look, Weddings' style director Kate Berry made her bouquet of "pink jasmine, andromeda, dusty miller, and blushing bride hydrangea . . . [and] dipped select petals in subtle rose-gold glitter."

Guys? Thank God the rose-gold glitter was subtle. I mean, can you imagine anything worse than rose-gold glitter if it wasn't subtle?

And, fortunately for all of us who may feel threatened by Lively's rumoured implants, long legs and flowing blonde hair, she's happily domesticated - in fact she was even before the wedding!

"An avid cook, crafter, and baker, Blake envisioned an abundant dessert table overflowing with their favorite treats," the magazine writes. In addition to their vanilla-and-sour-cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves, the table was filled with s'mores bars, espresso beans, blueberry cheesecake tarts, lemon tarts, fruit jellies and mini strawberry shortcakes."

Blake Lively, you're just a wholesome, crafty home-maker! Mavel Tov!
