The home: A contemporary four-bedroom house in Melbourne's bayside area featuring a cinema room, pool and rooftop observatory with views of the city skyline and the Mornington Peninsula.
Who lives here: Greville Pabst, the chairman of WBP Property Group and a property commentator and judge on The Block, his wife Lisa, sons Noah, 19, and Corey, 17, and the family's boxer pup, Lexi.
What we did: "We commissioned Schulberg Demkiw Architects to transform it from a two-storey 1960s Mediterranean-style house into a contemporary home with living areas overlooking Port Phillip Bay," says Greville.
Favourite room: "The living room - it's like a changing canvas, with Melbourne's unique seasonal backdrop," he says.
The 'hood: "Nothing beats taking a stroll along Half Moon Bay," says Greville.
Future plans: "I'm installing laser-cut screens around the front outdoor balcony, and building up the garden to protect the house - and us - from the harsh elements like wind and salt from the water. It will also provide greater privacy," he says.
Best advice: "Think texture!" says Greville. "Seasonal palettes come and go, but texture gives soul and dimension to a room."
