A while ago we drew your attention to the new Life of Pi film

Well, it's nearly here. It launches in Australian cinemas on New Year's Day.

To refresh your memory, it tells the story of a young man called Pi who survives a disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, Pi forms an amazing and unexpected relationship with another survivor … a fearsome Bengal tiger.

The book on which it's based was a best seller and Academy Award Winning director Ang Lee’s vision, coupled with stunning 3D visuals, has turned a novel long thought un-filmable into a thrillingly audacious mix of grand storytelling, sharp intellect and brilliant visuals, that has to be seen at the cinema to believed.
