How good is this ad? It's for online US company HelloFlo, which offers "tampons, pads, and candy delivered right to your door."

According to an article on Jezebel, the company's founder Naama Bloom said she started HelloFlo because she wanted a period reminder service that also came with the stuff you needed for your actual period. They're also looking at launching 'period starter kits' that mothers can order for their daughters, filled with "everything she'll need to get through that first cycle plus some extra gifts to ease the transition".

... Which makes me a bit sniffy about the fact that I didn't receive gifts when I first got my period.

Anyway, Bloom told AdWeek that the idea for the web commercial came about "over a bottle of wine and a bunch of Thai food one night":

"I was listing out my insights about the period experience and shared the story of the girl at camp that my friends and I all turned to for advice. When Pete said 'You mean like a Camp Gyno?' we basically knew what we had to do. Only humour could tell this story in a way that would be relatable, endearing and shareable."
