Jacki Weaver's ascendancy looks in no danger of slowing down, with the Oscar-nominated actor signing on to Woody Allen's next film.
The Silver Linings Playbook star will work with Emma Stone and Colin Firth, who were tapped earlier this year to star in the film, according to industry website Deadline.com.
The Australian actor is not the only new addition to the cast: other signings include Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock), Eileen Atkins (Cold Mountain), Hamish Linklater and Simon McBurney (The Last King of Scotland). The film, which does not yet have a title, is being shot in the south of France.
Allen's Blue Jasmine, starring Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin, is set to be released in cinemas later this month.
Weaver's next screen outing will be in the psychological drama Stoker with fellow Australian leading ladies Mia Wasikowska and Nicole Kidman.
