Carey Mulligan wearing her 'Peter, Paul and Mary' style wig for her role in Inside Llewyn Davis.
At first glance it looks to be based on the story of Bob Dylan: folk singer trying to forge his way in 1960s New York, (not to mention the fact that the Dylan song, Farewell, provides the backing track for the entire trailer). But the Coen Brothers, who have now made over 20 films together, don't look to be promoting it that way. Besides, they're sure to garner enough controversy from die-hard Coen fans by casting the deeply uncool anti-hipster Justin Timberlake as Carey Mulligan's husband. Mulligan plays a sharp-tongued ex of the folk singer, Llewyn Davis, (played by Oscar Isaac, who you may remember from Drive) and she looks fabulous in her long, folk singer wig.
The movie also features two stars from GIRLS: Adam Driver, (Adam) and Alex Karpovsky, (Ray) and Coen brothers staple, John Goodman, wearing a wonderfully weird hairstyle.
Inside Llewyn Davis does not even have a release date in the US yet but we're going to think good things and predict we'll see it in Australia before the end of the year. Watch the trailer below.
