Awwww. Dakota Fanning. In our mind she'll always been the cute little girl who smashed our hearts into a gazilion piece in I Am Sam.

Well here's something to make you feel old. Daktota Fanning turned 18 last February.

When most people turn 18, they go out and drink unhealthy amounts of butterscotch schnapps. But Ms Fanning decided to celebrate the fact that she was legal by shooting her first sex scene.

Fanning stars with Elizabeth Olsen in Very Good Girls, which recently premiered at Sundance. Fanning explained her decision to go sans clothes to MTV at the festival:

“Yeah, well, I’ve never done that before and I’m very newly allowed to do that. I was newly 18, so yeah, it was, it’s kind of a sensitive thing, but it’s a part of life.”

She's right. Getting nude is part of life.

It seems another part of life is appearing in a Marc Jacobs ad that gets the UK censors all hot under the collar.

Back in June 2011 Fanning shot the below advert for Marc Jacobs' Oh, Lola! fragrance. It was deemed "sexually inappropriate" by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority and subsequently banned in England. Apparently the problem was that she was sitting with an oversized bottle between her legs and it was explicitly phallic or somesuch.

Fanning recently spoke about the "incident" for the first time with Glamour magazine.

When asked if she was surprised by the strong reaction to the Oh, Lola! ads, she replied:

“Yeah, I was! If you want to read something into a perfume bottle, then I guess you can. But it’s also like, Why are you making it about that, you creep? I love Marc and trust him, and we just laughed about it.”

You know you grew up in Hollywood when you say things like "I love <insert designer name> and trust him".
