Rihanna has passed a rite of passage familiar to many young, successful stars: a sit-down with Oprah Winfrey. The special, which airs on August 19, was filmed mostly in Rihanna’s home base of Barbados. And of course, Oprah had to ask about Chris Brown. "It was embarrassing," is how Rihanna describes her feelings after being physically assaulted by her then-boyfriend in 2009. "It was humiliating. I lost my best friend. I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark."
We’re not sure Rihanna has entirely let go of her ‘best friend’; after performing on each other’s albums, rumours swirled again last month that the two indulged in a secret meeting in St Tropez aboard Rihanna’s yacht.
Winfrey said she thought Rihanna would be ‘a badass’ but instead she found ....”nothing could’ve been farther from the truth.”
