Karl Lagerfeld does not like it when gay people 'order babies'

German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld - that's King Karl to you - has used the finale of his Chanel haute couture show in Paris to signal his support for gay marriage.
At the end of his spring 2013 show in Paris's vast Grand Palais on Tuesday, two models in long white gowns with trains swept in accompanied by a small boy.
The Guardian reports that Lagerfeld said he wanted to signal his support for the controversial gay marriage law, which has led protesters to take to the streets of Paris. "I don't even understand the debate," said Lagerfeld. "Since 1904 the church and state have been separate."
Speaking backstage after the show, Lagerfeld confirmed that it was intended as a show of support for gay marriage although he added that he was "less supportive" of what he called gay couples "ordering babies".
"I am not so crazy about that," he told reporters.

So, what then, is the significance of the small boy? Does Karl only sanction the addition of offspring if one person is biologically connected to the child? Is this Karl's tacit approval of Elton John and David Furnish who welcomed another son via surrogate earlier this month? And what of heterosexual couples like Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness? Does he disapprove of them adopting their two children?
Ahh, we think we know what this is about! It's Choupette, isn't it? If Karl ever adopted a baby it would provide fierce competition for his kitty. And Choupette would never allow that. Choupette does not compete!
