Memories! Here is Arya and her dad Eddard, back when his head was still attached to his body.
We know that one does not simply give away spoilers at a pivotal time such as this so we’re just going to let you know that Game of Thrones airs tonight. Once the overlooked illegitimate child of HBO, it's now, thanks to ratings, an Emmy award for its most charismatic star, Peter Dinklage, and a hell of a lot of buzz, moving into a more prominent place in the televsion landscape. And season 2 promises to have more blood, more boobs and - deep breath - even more cast members than its predecessor.
Critics are already calling it “artful” while praising its “pop culture wizardry”, with Variety making the big call that Game of Thrones is “the closest spiritual heir to The Sopranos." Which makes sense in a way as director Tim Van Patten used to work on the mob series.
But, dear ones, if you’ve been watching you know this. And if you have any sense, you’d understand that the boy king Joffrey is pure evil!
If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, here is a recap of season 1 and, for those who wish to indulge, a trailer for season 2.
