Brad Pitt is going to design furniture? He is according to Architectural Digest. The 48 year-old actor and producer will collaborate with New Jersey furniture designer Frank Pollaro. Pitt will unveil his pieces, (or, perhaps the pieces he sketched and Pollaro agreed to make) on November 13- 15 in New York. The collection will reportedly include a dining table, club chairs and a bed.

If this sounds a little 'Katie-Holmes-made-an-ill-fitting-sateen-jumpsuit-but-people-still-call-her-a-fashion-designer' then rest assured - Pitt has been digging on architecture and furnishings since before you were born. Hence, the use of the retro term 'digging on'.

"I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered [Charles Rennie] Mackintosh and [architect] Frank Lloyd Wright," Pitt told Architectural Digest. "Actually, I found Wright in college, when looking for a lazy two-point credit to get out of French. It forever changed my life."

And it seems, Pollaro isn't afraid to back him up, telling the magazine that when they get together their meetings last "anywhere from seven to ten hours." But let's be real- where are they meeting? In a bar? Is there wine involved? Pollaro says. "We talk about design, about materials, about craftsmanship, about classicism, about modernism. He has a respect for the masters of design."

Pitt says he is "bent on quality to an unhealthy degree," while Pollaro "embodies the same mad spirit of the craftsmen of yore, with their obsessive attention to detail. It just so happens Frank and I speak the same language. And we both have a predilection for far too much wine." Yep - we knew it. They came up with this over wine.
