Olivia Munn, SiriusXM Studios, June 20, 2013
The TV premiere of season 2 of The Newsroom is less than a month away, which means the cast have to go out and do all sorts of publicity for it. Olivia Munn is one such cast member and she's been saddled with the task of a radio interview. The day before she flirted outrageously - excuse us - appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show and fittingly donned a short red dress. But, radio? Radio is a different beast. Precisely because nobody sees what you look like. Well, unless you're a very pretty female celebrity. In which case your photo will be taken beforehand and your outfit dissected by, you know, female-focused websites.
The look Munn has perfected here is what the layperson might refer to as 'office wear'. Now, Munn does not work in an office so she's given her office wear a celebrity twist in the form of a fuchsia pink pencil skirt - and matching lipstick. But the rest of the outfit - neutral shoes, spotted sheer blouse, (that she's conservatively covered over with a singlet) and the merest hint of delicate gold jewellery around her wrist and finger, practically scream 'I'm going for a coffee run downstairs.' The result is creative workplace perfection. This is a wise move by Munn, because she plays a very serious character on the show but enjoys something of a reputation as a foxy guy's girl in real life. What's more, it's something we can all copy in our own workplaces. Provided you work in a creative workplace. Such as a female-focused website.
