Carriageworks, the new MBFWA venue, perfectly captures the ugly/beautiful juxtaposition that fashion is so very fond of. Steel and concrete combined with pretty birds and pretty clothes, ideal really. Camilla & Marc celebrated ten years in the fashion biz by opening proceedings at this year's fashion week. Clover Moore and Lara Bingle were front row, the uber bloggers in full flight and the collection was a lovely, wearable one. Silky trousers were paired with paisley, fluted white leather competed with cigarette silhouettes and there were pops of crop tops, punches of orange silk and some seriously excellent shimmering, stiff gold jacquard that was fashioned into trousers, tops and the finisher - a balloon-esque jacket. There was a lot of white, leather, precise and pleated and peek-a-boo tailoring and sexy sheer black lace (woo!).
