Fashion designer Carolina Herrera is one of those endlessly, timelessly chic women who never looks crumpled, messy or anything but stylish. Her signature crisp white shirt furthers the argument that having one in your wardrobe is never a bad life choice. As Herrara told UK Vogue at the launch of CH Carolina Herrera's White Shirt Collection at her new Fulham Road store in London last week,
"The white shirt is my favourite thing. It's fresh yet seductive - every woman always looks good in a white shirt."
And indeed three stylish women at said launch - Leigh Lezark, Olivia Palermo and Julia Restoin Roitfeld - each wore one of Herrara's shirts in their own way. The result was truly excellent and proof that a white shirt need not be safe, and it's not only the building block of many an outfit - but in fact, the hero.
Elegance is really all about simplicity. Just ask Carolina Herrera and/or one of her white shirts.
