Kate Beckinsale, out and about in London, August 2012
Anybody who has been lucky enough to be in London when the sun comes out would know that it transforms into an entirely different city, with an entirely different species of people. Everybody goes to the park, the infamous London grumpiness vanishes and there is an inordinate amount of pasty English torso on display. It is marvellous. And what better way to celebrate one of these all too brief moments when the sun does come out in London? Why a pop of neon, a flash of bright, a shedding of anything grey or beige or black. That’s what. Kate Beckinsale is indulging in a little burst of colour as London swelters, and as chartreuse is currently a colour of choice it was a very wise move indeed. The colour lifts the simple cut of the dress and paired with the Minnie Mouse-esque white pumps, Beckinsale is quite simply, a dose of happiness. Viva the English summer!
