Kate Bosworth, dinner at the Sundance Film Festival, January 2013.

Say what you will about Kate Bosworth, (and there is plenty you can say), the lady knows how to dress. Which is no doubt why Calvin Klein, (the fashion label, not the man) decided to host a dinner for her at the Sundance Film Festival to promote her new movie, Big Sur. And what else do you do when a fashion label wants to hold a dinner in your honour? Why, you wear their label head-to-toe of course. Because, let's be honest, it's not like anyone gives two figs about the menu at these things. Did somebody say caramel and toffee? Well, you must be talking about the outfit. And what a smart choice it is too. It's classic Calvin Klein in that it's minimalist but the elements of white - the turtleneck, the belt and the boots - give it a kind of late 1960s-early 1970s edge. Which is wholly appropriate, considering Robert Redford, the co-founder and Chairperson of the film festival, was at his peak during that era. Let's not forget, either, that the festival is held in Utah. Home of the Mormon. Land of sweeping plains. Cowboy country. Bosworth is tipping her sartorial hat to all of these rich traditions by pairing a shaved shearling top with a leather-looking skirt and what is reportedly a pair of white calf skin boots. That's some hide, right? And, let me tell you folks, it works like a dream.
