Abby Lee Kershaw, right, some sexy woman and ... is that a man? modelling for ck one makeup.
The rundown: This Sunday the brand that twenty years ago convinced us that sharing cologne and jeans with your man was not only cool but practical will launch an equally commonsense 19-piece cosmetic collection. Proving that variety is the spice of life, when you add up the colour and formulation options of each of the 19 products, there’s a whopping 136 combinations up for grabs which include everything from liquid to powder foundation, bronzer, eye shadow, lip gloss, lipstick and nail lacquer in pretty much every colour imaginable. But in keeping with the utilitarian feel of ck one, rather than segment the products into the usual eye, lip and cheek categories, they’ve divvied the range into three simple to follow stages, 'Look Real', 'Define Yourself' and 'Add Intensity', in a bid to cut down confusion at the cosmetics counter.
The Verdict: It’s got more variety than a Las Vegas breakfast buffet.
Sure, the sleek, black and white pill-capsule-inspired packaging is easy on the eye, but the fuss-free nature of the products and the smorgasbord of shades is where the real magic is at. Although picking a favourite is near impossible, we’re predicting this trio of time-saving multitasking numbers are going to sell like hotcakes.
First up, the ck one double-ended eyeliner, $28. Use the white on the lower lash line to make tired eyes pop and keep the sparkle for after five.

Next, the ck one 3-in-one face makeup SPF 8, $55. Part serum, part primer, part foundation, it’s a base-perfecting trifecta.

Finally, the ck one brow pencil + gel duo, $30. At one end: a thick, waxy crayon that fills brows in a second. At the other: a clear gel that makes taming unruly brows a piece of cake.

On a side note, it’s pretty impressive when you think you can own a piece of the designer action, starting with the Eyeshadow Base, Gloss Eyecolor or Soft Defining Lip Pencil for around the price of two takeaway pizzas, $25 a pop.
Vital Info: The entire collection will be available exclusively to Myer and online at myer.com.au from April 1. Run, don’t walk.
