How to... Apply white eye liner
Kate Middleton loves her black eye liner - but maybe she should swap for a fresher, brighter white eye liner. Beauty blogger Eliza Ashe shows us how to wear it.
Believe it or not, when it comes to looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, black eye liner isn’t always the answer. When worn solo, dark pencils tend to close in the eye area and that’s where making the switch to a white or nude-toned liner can make a world of difference to tired eyes.
Rather than creating a harsh line of definition, smudging a white or pink-toned liner across the lower lashes not only opens up the eyes, but it also helps to downplay redness to make the whites of the eyes look instantly brighter. Try: Benefit Eye Bright Pencil, $37 (below).

Then, if you’re still craving a little more lift, you can use the same pencil to highlight the brown bone.
Word to the wise: unlike a dramatic dark liner, you want to keep the white looking subtle, so if you’ve been a tad heavy handed with the application, use a cotton tip to gently smudge the product along the lash line.
